State House Update
The House passed legislation this week to distribute funds for a variety of purposes. Included in that legislation is MFT funding for local governments and $56 million for IDOT. The IDOT money is not a personnel appropriation, but we believe it will allow the Department to buy fuel and salt, as well as reimburse for travel expenses. The IDOT and MFT money is vital to keeping roads open this winter and allowing IDOT to continue activities like bridge inspections. TFIC had pushed for this funding for both local roads and IDOT and we are pleased it has been appropriated.
